With its new mini Stromer Honda sets the e on the childschema. Two engine variants are available on the market. A quick charge function is always included.
Honda e starts at 33 850 Euro
Straightforward with smooth surfaces, slight curves and rounded edges – this is how Honda presents the production version of its fully electric small car “e” at the IAA in Frankfurt (public days: 12 to 22 September).
From the early summer of 2020, the three-pound, three-pound four-door model with its short overhangs will roll to customers. Two performance levels are planned. The small variant starts from 33 850 euros. The stronger model wants to offer Honda from 36 850 euros.
So there is the Honda e with 100 kW / 136 hp and 113 kW / 154 hp – the maximum torque of the electric motor in both cases is 315 Newton meters (Nm). The range of the battery indicates Honda with up to 220 kilometers. By means of a fast-charging function, the power storage is supposed to provide 80 percent of the energy within half an hour.
Visually close to the prototype of Geneva
The Honda e hardly differs at first glance from the series prototype, which stood in the spring at the Geneva Motor Show. So even in the series cameras and monitors in the interior replace conventional side mirrors. Also, the car retains retractable door handles for better aerodynamics.
From the color-contrasting front panel shine two round headlights. At the rear, the look is repeated with two round tail lights. Inside, the small car dispensed with a center console. The dashboard is characterized by five upright displays, including two 12.3-inch screens.
