Acura today unveils the 2015 Acura TLX Prototype at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show which aims to deliver sports-sedan performance and agility in a more refined, sophisticated and technologically enhanced package.

Nickanamed as Acura’s “Red Carpet Athlete” the TLX is bathed in Acura Athletic Red Pearl, presents a lithe exterior form, taut body surfaces and sports-sedan proportions. Its sporting character is further highlighted by its low and wide stance, shortened front and rear overhangs, dynamically sculpted fender arches, and purposeful character lines. Acura also announced a base model that will come with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder equipped with direct-injection technology and paired with Honda’s new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

One notable feature of the TLX is the IDS or Integrated Dynamics System that features four driving modes – ECON (Economy), Normal, Sport, and a new Sport+ mode. The system adjusts Electric Power Steering (EPS), throttle response, SH-AWD and P-AWS control logic, transmission shift mapping, Active Noise Control settings and HVAC control in accordance with the preferences of the driver. The Acura TLX 2015 will launch mid-year at Acura dealerships in the United States.
