BMW X3 Gets a Makeover

First introduced 10 years ago, the BMW X3 which has enjoyed  sales figures of more than one million units sold worldwide is getting a makeover in 2014.

The new X3 gets the new generation 2-litre turbodiesel with increased injection pressure of 2000 bar making the outputs climb up to 400kW and 400Nm with the capacity to run to 100km/h in 8.1 seconds. In terms of fuel consumption, the new X3  uses only 5 litres per 100km, dropping 7.1 percent from previous model. Read more

Geek Motors | Volkswagen To Release Beetle Dune Beach by 2015

Volkswagen will present a prototype of its Beetle Dune at the Detroit Auto Show and will also announce production of the model targeting a 2015 release.

The Beetle Dune looks flatter and wider than the Beetle-series and will have 19-inch wheels. It will also be 5.5 inches wider and 1.2 inches longer and with the beach in mind, the model will also be higher by five centimeters and will be outfitted with protection against the elements.

Mercedes-Benz Classic at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Élégance

German Car maker Mercedes-Benz Classic is to mark its attendance at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Élégance to be held on 18 August 2013 by exhibiting a “Prinz Heinrich” Benz dating from 1910. Restored by Mercedes-Benz Classic, the vehicle is considered to be one of the first true sports cars ever made.

Another exhibit which will be on display at the event is a 24/40 hp Benz landaulet dating from 1907, representing the long tradition of premium- and luxury-class vehicles at Mercedes-Benz. Read more

The international premiere of the BMW i3 was held simultaneously in the cities of London, New York and Beijing today. The revolutionary concept behind the new BMW i3 was presented to the global public in a live broadcast from the three locations. Launch communications for the new electric BMW i3 also got underway at the same time. The campaign for the new BMW i3 started worldwide with a standard international online presence focused on the launch film, a redesigned website with configurator and the first print ads. Luxury saloon with plug-in hybrid: Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid

In “last but by no means least” sense, Porsche is now also entering the plug-in hybrid fray.

Not with a small city vehicle, naturally, but with a two ton luxury saloon with 416 PS and a top speed of 270 km/h (170mph).
