Green Motor | Peugeot Previews AE21 Hybrid E-bike for Urban Commuters

Joining the likes of BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz in creating two-wheeled, pedal-powered range of bicycles is Peugeot with its version of an e-bike, the AE21 hybrid.

Although it isn’t the first bike coming off the French carmaker’s factories, the AE21, unlike it’s earlier predecessors is a compact ebike that packs a lithium-ion battery in its aluminum Clever Case frame, which also acts as a compartment case. First previewed at Who’s Next in Paris, the AE21 will be commercially released in September at the Salon Du Cycle where two versions will be unveiled, one with the wheel hub motor and another with a belt-drive motor, both with two undisclosed battery capacities. The 2014 Panamera S E-Hybrid sports a higher performance battery and a more powerful motor than the Panamera S hybrid, a concept they had originally made.
