Just like the iconic yellow cabs of New York City, England has the Hackney carriages called the LTC black cab roaming the streets of London but a new cab design coming from Japanese carmaker Nissan is on its way near the end of 2014.

The new taxis will be the first electric taxis with zero emission, a breathe of fresh air for a city that suffers much with air pollution. Based on the NV200 multipurpose platform of Nissan, the cabs will be built by Nissan Design Europe (NDE) in Paddington.
