BMW X3 Gets a Makeover

First introduced 10 years ago, the BMW X3 which has enjoyed  sales figures of more than one million units sold worldwide is getting a makeover in 2014.

The new X3 gets the new generation 2-litre turbodiesel with increased injection pressure of 2000 bar making the outputs climb up to 400kW and 400Nm with the capacity to run to 100km/h in 8.1 seconds. In terms of fuel consumption, the new X3  uses only 5 litres per 100km, dropping 7.1 percent from previous model. Read more

Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team today unveiled the F1 W05, its new car for the 2014 Formula One season, at the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain. Designed from the ground up as an integrated project between the Mercedes-Benz teams based at Brackley and Brixworth, this car marks a milestone as Mercedes Benz celebrates 120 years in Motorsport and the 80th birthday of its Silver Arrowa. Stuttgart-based automaker Mercedes-Benz presents at CES 2014 a new version of its Digital DriveStyle App with iPhone integration for cars equipped with the Drive Kit Plus which now allows users to access controls of their Nest Labs thermostats at home right from their cars. The new version of the app also features an intergration with Google’s Google+ network, aside from the already existing Facebook integration, which altogether offers a text-to-speech feature so the latest posts on your social feed will be read by the app. These new features shown at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas will be made available in the US in the coming months. A forecast of market analyst IHS Automotive for auto motor und sport magazine reports that almost all German car manufacturers can look forward to growth in sales in the year 2014.

According to IHS, the Stuttgart-based Porsche, which is projected to grow the most in 2014, will see an increase in sales of 24.8 percent to 200,100 vehicles worldwide in 2014, with its own SUV Macan expected to enjoy high gains in Europe, China, the Middle East and the USA. Read more
