Stuttgart-based automaker Mercedes-Benz presents at CES 2014 a new version of its Digital DriveStyle App with iPhone integration for cars equipped with the Drive Kit Plus which now allows users to access controls of their Nest Labs thermostats at home right from their cars. The new version of the app also features an intergration with Google’s Google+ network, aside from the already existing Facebook integration, which altogether offers a text-to-speech feature so the latest posts on your social feed will be read by the app. These new features shown at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas will be made available in the US in the coming months. Bosch CEO Werner Struth announced on Monday at the CES in Las Vegas a 2.5 by 2.5 millimeters wide model sensor designed for smartphones and other consumer devices and also for the automotive industry.

Increasingly being built into devices both in the home and in automobiles – Bosch plans to develop these components as a new strategic goal, according to the CEO. Struth also adds that the auto industry remains as the largest sector of Bosch and that these new sensors will pave way to a “full automated driving system.” Read more
