Honda unveils new Urban SUV production model and S660 Concept @ Tokyo Motor Show 2013 #Video

Honda today unveiled a new Urban SUV production model on the first day of the Tokyo Motor Show. The new model will be named Vezel for the Japanese market. Strengthening its sports car activity, Honda also revealed the S660 Concept mid-ship sports model.

The new Urban SUV will be launched in Europe during 2015, with the name of the European model being confirmed nearer to launch.

Green Light for Bentley SUV

Bentley Motors today confirms that it will proceed with the development of the Bentley SUV, the company’s fourth model line. The SUV will be made in Crewe and will go on sale in 2016. Volkswagen Builds Small SUV VW Taigun

Volkswagen is set to put the Taigun, a small SUV based on the VW UP, into production, according to magazine “Auto Motor und Sport,” adding that preparations are well advanced for the model.

A prototype model is in fact on production according to internal plans and is set to be presented at the end of 2015 for test drives and early 2016 for release. The Taigun wil be at the same base price of the VW UP which is around 16000 Euros.

Pseudo-Offroader | No more 4x4: every third SUV without 4 wheel Drive

Surely this is a con? Many supposedly off-road capable SUVs cannot even leave the asphalt. The reason quite simply is that they lack the traction to do so. This is particularly the case with compact and imported SUVs, which are increasingly being supplied without the critical 4×4 drive. Larger offroaders, on the other hand, are predominantly equipped to handle the terrain they were designed for.

Sales of SUVs without 4×4 have risen to a new high. In 2012, a total of 155,000 off-road vehicles with drive directed only to two wheels were sold, an increase of 11,000 on the previous year. Read more

I have yet to buy my very first SUV but since I can’t just yet, I’ll continue to dream of all the cars I could buy with my imaginary money. I’d choose this Cross Blue SUV by Volkswagen which features six separate seats, offering more comfort for the passengers. Aside from the color of this SUV, the Cross Blue is just a concept recently shown off at the auto show in Detroit this week.
