MINI Continues Winning Streak in 'Best Cars 2014'

Readers of the automobile magazine “auto, motor und sport” has voted MINI as the top choice in its imported premium small car category, together with other notable vehicles in the publication’s “Best Cars 2014” awards.

The Oxford-produced MINI in the past years have won the top spot in the imported ‘Mini Cars’ category, with the MINI Coupe also finishing fourth with 9.7% votes. Now on its 38th edition of the Best Cars readers’ vote, making it the longest-standing public polls in the automotive sector, more than 115,000 readers of “auto, motor und sport” took part in the said poll. Readers were able to choose from their favorites amongst 384 models in ten categories.

Mini The Mini is a small economy car that was made by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a British icon of the 1960s, and its space-saving front-wheel drive layout – allowing 80 per cent of the area of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage – influenced a generation of car makers. The vehicle is in some ways considered the British equivalent of its German contemporary the Volkswagen Beetle, which enjoyed similar popularity in North America. Read more
