MotorSports | DTM 2013 Moscow: 1-2 for Audi @ Russian premiere

Today’s DTM premiere at the Moscow Raceway ended with a 1-2 for Audi. At the 2.555 kilometres long track on the outskirts of Moscow, Mike Rockenfeller scored his second victory of the season from his fellow Audi driver Mattias Ekström to extend his margin in the drivers’ standings to 27 points. Augusto Farfus finished third as the best-placed BMW driver.

Audi drivers Adrien Tambay in fourth and Jamie Green in sixth place documented Audi’s dominance in the first-ever DTM round in Russia. The fastest Mercedes-Benz driver, Gary Paffett took the chequered flag in fifth place and moved up to third in the championship standings. Reigning DTM champion Bruno Spengler (BMW), second in the drivers’ standings, dropped back after innocently becoming involved in a collision in the opening stages of the race and lost a lot of ground in the points with his 19th place finish.
