Volkswagen shows off Limited-edition Beetle GSR

Aside from dropping the M3 series, VW is busy with more announcements. The latest introduction is of a limited edition 2014 Beetle GSR that is somewhat affordable at $29,995.

The Beetle GSR is based on the “Yellow Black Racer” popular back in the 70s which was first shown off the Chicago Auto Show. The old classic was a limited edition model with only 3,500 units sold.

Features of this limited edition VW Beetle include a set of 19-inch Tornado alloy wheels/235/40-series tires, a black black-and-yellow paint scheme that reminds me of Bumblebee, a sport steering wheel, sport seats, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, GSR shift lever, and an impressive R-Line dash pad.

The 2014 Beetle GSR boasts of a 130 mph top speed and can hit 60 miles per hour within 6.6 seconds.
