Japanese Researchers Looking to Recharge Cars while Moving

A Japanese consortium of 22 companies (including Mitsubishi) and 13 universities is looking at researching methods of recharging electric automobiles cable-free and on the move. Similar matters are already being researched: however, these methods require the previous methods via induction loop, that the car remains stationary for a period over the wireless chargepoint.

The Japanese research concept foresees energy being transmitted via microwave technology. While there are also scientific preliminary work, it may be several years before production stage is achieved.

This would of course mean that the greatest current weakness in current electromobiles, the costly and heavy batteries, would be neutralized.
