Some of you may remember the Audi R8 TDI LeMans concept that was displayed at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. But for those of you who don’t know about it, the concept was powered by a V12 TDI diesel which produced 500 horses and 738 lb/ft. That’s some sweet numbers from a diesel power plant . Well, rumor has it that Audi is working on a new diesel electric super car. Hmmmmm, that sound’s interesting.
According to the head of technical development for Audi, Wolfgang Durheimer, the new vehicle which is at the moment unnamed will have the ability to outdo the McLaren P1. Well talk about being ambitious. He also mentioned that the new vehicle will be very different from the R8 and will offer state of the art technology to it’s potential owners.
Audi is obviously pretty confident when it comes to the performance of their new supercar and we are all anxious to see what they will be coming with for sure.
